Le réel engouement que suscitent les weblogs et les wikis, est un phénomène majeur de l’internet dont il convient de mesurer les impacts à plus ou moins long terme dans divers domaines, notamment économiques, publicitaires, politiques, ou au niveau des stratégies de communication des entreprises. Ces nouvelles technologies, encore majoritairement utilisées par des particuliers, évoluent, diversifient leurs fonctions, s’adaptent aux besoins de leurs clients, de plus en plus nombreux.
Les weblogs tendent aujourd’hui à trouver un modèle économique fiable, ils sont en ce sens étroitement liés à la publicité et leur usage en politique se répand de plus en plus. Mais une fois défini ce modèle économique, le weblog pourrait prétendre révolutionner les médias et il constitue également une opportunité considérable dans le cadre des entreprises à tous les niveaux de communication.
Le livre de référence concernant « ces nouveaux objets qui intriguent le net » a pour objectif de cibler tant les acteurs qui interviennent à la création et à la consommation des weblogs que les usages qui en sont faits et les problématiques qui s’en dégagent.
A l’usage de tous ceux qui de près ou de loin utilisent l’outil internet et souhaitent se tenir au fait de ses avancées technologiques et des potentialités qui en découlent, ce livre didactique cerne les enjeux majeurs du blog afin que chacun puisse maîtriser totalement cet outil révolutionnaire caractéristique d’une évolution du point de vue sociale et qui influe tant sur les medias, que sur le monde de l’entreprise ou dans la communication politique.
Le blog est en effet perçu comme l’aboutissement de « la promesse initiale du net ». Il devient nécessaire en ces termes de préciser sa nature, de voir d’où viennent ces technologies, quelles technologies déjà existantes elles utilisent, quelles utilités futures elles peuvent encore développer, quels en sont les acteurs… qui sont autant de différences avec les pages perso, dont la complexité technique faisait de l’ombre au contenu.
Parce qu’un blog est référencé dans les moteurs de recherche, parce qu’il utilise des technologies standardisées, parce qu’il mêle journal et forum de discussion, il séduit plus de 4 millions d’ internautes et avec lui « le contenu reprend le pouvoir sur la technique ». Le blog est donc une mine foisonnante dont il faut apprendre à extraire le potentiel, à l’usage des entreprises, de l’économie, de la communication, de la publicité et de la presse.

Après des définitions et mises au point sur ces notions,ce livre tient compte d’un briefing historique et présente quelques personnalités phares du blog ou du wiki, quelques exemples de blogs de toutes sortes sont passés en revue, des blogs politiques aux blogs marketing en passant par l’intrablog entreprise. Cette exposition de blogs donne ensuite matière à une étude des technologies qui entourent les blogs et invite également à s’intéresser à quelques données statistiques. La partie suivante est toute entière consacrée aux applications des blogs. Il s’agit avant tout de constituer une synthèse limpide de chacune d’entre elles. Les journalistes s’expriment énormément sur la question, le but était donc de voir le plus objectivement possible où en sont actuellement les débat. Vous ne trouverez donc pas une étude sociale du phénomène des blogs mais un point sur les discussions ouvertes : quels sont les enjeux de telle ou telle application des blogs ? Quelle évolution est envisageable ? Sont synthétisés ici tant les avis des bloggers, du public que ceux des professionnels de la communication, du marketing et en premier lieu des journalistes. Pour ceux qui souhaiteront se lancer dans l’aventure blog, quelques notes sont données pour la création d’un blog. Le glossaire reprend un grand nombre de définitions qu’il est possible de trouver sur internet et les listes de sites parlant de blogs comme les liste de blogs, non exhaustives, constituent une anthologie de toutes les pages consultées sur le net qui ont permis de se faire une idée claire sur les blogs, de les comprendre et les utiliser et qui ont mené à la réalisation de cet ouvrage de synthèse.

Judging by your to-do list posted in early November there's some work still to do.Any estimated time for release, and how easy will it be to modify from the vanilla package? My this I mean, for example, that themes based around K2 all have a similar and easy to understand format and structure to them.I too am holding off a full release of my old blog until I come across a nice theme to support it.
